Carrie was a career defining role for Sissy Spacek, and ended up earning her a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress. While she lost that year, she eventually won an Oscar in 1980 for her role in the Coal Miner’s Daughter. She has also starred in Heart Beat, The Long Walk Home, JFK, In the Bedroom, Nine Lives, North Country, and The Help. In 2012, she published her memoir titled, My Extraordinary Ordinary Life. In her personal life, she is married to director Jack Fisk, and they have two daughters together.
