At the seven week mark, Katherine and Tom headed in to do her early scans. They were so excited about the baby that they couldn’t possibly imagine something being wrong.

After the tests, they were called back in and a consultant began to ask Katherine if she had a family history of cancer and what symptoms she had been experiencing. She later said, “I knew something was wrong with me but I didn’t know that it would be cancer.”
