Katherine wasn’t just happy that the surgery had helped to remove her tumors, but also that her baby had survived the ordeal as well! Katherine and Tom had both been very upset at the prospect of losing their little one, so it was a relief to find out that the baby had endured the surgery.
She later said, “That was the hardest bit to cope with. As soon as I was out of theatre and in recovery I was allowed to listen to [the baby’s] strong little heartbeat to let me know everything was okay.”
