It wasn’t long before she had the perfect answer and explained how her mom must have been the one to put Jake in the backpack. However, Mrs. Nabors saw through the lie and soon learned the girl couldn’t bear to be away from her new friend. She just wanted to spend all day with her four-legged companion, even if that meant Jake needed to come to school.
