By two years old Alexis was able to read fluently by herself without the help of her parents; most children don’t learn to read until they are around six years old. Her reading ability didn’t stop there either, as Alexis began being able to learn how to pronounce new words by herself. She used the knowledge of reading she already had to work the sounds out, and could pronounce words she had never seen or heard before. Even though her parents admit they were intelligent children, they have no idea where her gift came from.
