As soon as he saw the mound of trash in front of him, James knew that he had no chance. Out of curiosity, he asked the landfill workers whether it was possible for him to retrieve his hard drive – and they had some tough love for him. They noted that to have any chance of finding it, they would need to employ 15 men to search the grounds, two diggers to search the depths of the site, and buy all of the safety equipment required for such a task. Even with a well-paid job, it was well out of James’ reach.
