With a new diagnosis under his belt, Walker struggled to maintain a normal life. According to the National Kidney Foundation, a whopping 3,000 people are added to the waiting list for a new kidney each year – and with fewer donors ready to give up their own kidneys, Walker was simply added to the list with 2,999 other people. Because he desperately needed treatment, Walker had to spend much of his week on dialysis. In fact, he spent a total of two years on dialysis before his life changed completely.
