[post_page_title] Working with Macaulay taught filmmaker Chris Columbus a lesson[/post_page_title]
Chris Columbus was the filmmaker behind Home Alone, who has also gone on to be the cinematic brains behind Home Alone 2, Mrs. Doubtfire and two of the Harry Potter films. Prior to being a part of all of these children’s films, Chris learned the most valuable lesson of all about working with children from Culkin – when you work with kids, you’re also working with their families. About Macaulay and his family, Chris said, “We didn’t know that much about the family at the beginning; as we were shooting, we learned a little more. The stories are hair-raising. I was casting a kid who truly had a troubled family life.”
