Macaulay’s parents were never married but were parents to a large number of children. When his parents separated, his mother got custody of all of the children as well as power over Macaulay’s money. It was then that the money Macaulay was making was returning to good handling as his father was his manager and would squander the money. Macaulay and his father had a very difficult relationship over the years. They are no longer in contact.
