Being a mother as well as a wife, she felt an obligation to her children to fight for her family, but only because her husband had always been good to her before the incident happened. She told the people at I Am Second that she was glad her children were only young when it all happened, because by the time they understood what their father had done, they realized “how much their parents love[d] each other – and them – by sticking it out.”
