Many people believe the reason why Jack’s death has affected us so much is because it serves as a constant reminder of all of the people who lost their lives in this tragic disaster. Jack’s character is a way for us to emotionally connect to the maritime disaster and think of all of the people who lost their lives. Although we wish it never happened, James Cameron maintains that Jack’s death is pivotal to his fictional story. Without his death, the movie would have had no real story, and no real meaning.
