[post_page_title]Elizabeth I of England[/post_page_title]
Nicknamed “The Virgin Queen,” Queen Elizabeth I of England was the last of the Tudor royal family, having remained single her entire life.
The reason for this was for the greater good of England however, as she would have had to marry a member of a royal family from some other country, thereby potentially destabilizing her kingdom. England was able to see four decades of stability due to her not getting married.
