After she was discovered by Sammy Davis Jr., and subsequently left him to advance her career, Lola Falana became a widely-known singer and dancer. Her career took off in the 70s, as she appeared in shows such as The New Bill Cosby Show and The Streets of San Francisco, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in The Liberation of L.B. Jones.
