Barbara Eden began her television career in the 1950’s, as a semi-regular on The Johnny Carson Show. She appeared on several TV shows and films, including dramas like The Wayward Girl and From the Terrace, as well as comedy The Brass Bottle.
After seeing her in the latter, producer Sidney Sheldon cast her as Jeannie in the popular fantasy sitcom, I Dream of Jeannie. That’s when she truly rose to fame, and she’s still remembered for it.

Since I Dream of Jeannie, Barbara continued to other ventures, appearing on shows like the comedy A Brand New Life and the highly successful drama Dallas, as well as the TV movie I Still Dream of Jeannie.
The actress also wrote a memoir called Jeannie Out of the Bottle, which was published in 2011, depicting her years in acting, her three marriages, and the loss of her only child to substance abuse. And even though she’s taken a step back from acting, she still remains a TV icon.
