While the song was originally from 1949 Lou Bega brought it back to life in the late ’90s. “Mambo No.5” was deemed the number one best selling single of 1999. There was not one chart that “Mambo No.5” didn’t hold the top spot. The song’s popularity stemmed a long court case between the original singer and Bega.
