Director, Jon M. Chu actually heard about Henry from an accountant friend of his, Lisa-Kim Ling Kuan. The accountant saw Henry on the travel show he was hosting back in 2014 for the BBC and alerted Chu to him. Chu then proceeded to follow Henry on Instagram and essentially follow his every move until he decided to offer him the chance to audition for the film. Henry did not know what to make of the fact that Chu was following him.
