Filming for Dog the Bounty Hunter was stopped due to a crisis in the Chapman family. Duane discovered that his son Tucker was dating a woman of African American descent, and Duane did not like that.
In fact, in a phone call which was secretly taped and released to the public, he called the woman the “N” word. A&E, which was running the show at the time, received numerous complaints. Duane publicly apologized, and the show went on.
