[post_page_title]The Lawnmower Man – Early CGI scares us[/post_page_title]
The Lawnmower Man is possibly the best example of how badly visual effects can age over time. Released in 1992, this Stephen King adaptation saw a “simple” gardener undergoing experiments to become smarter, but instead turning into an almost omnipotent homicidal maniac in cyberspace.
We get it, nothing made in the early 1990s could possibly look amazing almost three decades later. But seriously, just look at it. It may have been a hot take in virtual reality back then, but today it’s just hurting our eyeballs.
