Carlos Solis, portrayed by Ricardo Antonio Chavira, is one of the original characters of Desperate Housewives, husband to Gabrielle for most of the show. Solis starts off the show by pushing Gabrielle into having a family, so much so that he replaces her birth control pills with sugar pills. He is tried for assault of two men he thinks are having an affair with Gabrielle (she is actually having an affair with John); becomes blinded; becomes father to Juanita and Celia; and eventually commits the ultimate crime.
