Anthony Eden replaced Churchill as Prime Minister in 1955. In addition to his iconic mustache, Northam captured Eden’s confidence although he is now widely seen as one of the worst British Prime Ministers. After Israel invades Egypt, the U.K. and France also invade with the aims of regaining control over the canal. This controversy along with severe health issues prompts the forcible resignation of Eden only two years into his term.
