Alcorn State University holds the record for the largest decrease in student applications. The reason for the 69.45% decrease is thought to be due to the university’s rural location in Lorman, Mississippi as well as the specific demographic that the university is aiming at having in the institution – African Americans. The university hold pride of place in being the first African-American land grant college in the United States. Founded in 1871, the school is famous for its Master of Business Administration Program.
