As you have probably already gathered by this point, the Gold Rush producers seem to harbor an element of partial neglect when it comes to the acts they the cast members engage in. Another case of this is when the equipment breaks down on set. They could have it fixed when the cameras aren’t rolling, but they choose to film the show while the equipment is broken so that the show will be more interesting. So much for it being a “reality show.”
