School is a place where parents can’t fully control what happens to their children, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar weren’t comfortable with that idea.
They didn’t want to send their children to public school and they couldn’t afford to send so many youngsters to a private Christian school, so they decided to proceed in the only way that would allow them to keep an eye on their kids at all times – home school. Michelle became certified as a teacher so she could teach her family from home.
