Chasidy couldn’t bear to see the old man crying alone at his table, and began to wonder why he was so upset.
She was trying to think what could have made the old man so upset that he would start crying in the middle of a restaurant. She toyed with the idea that he really wasn’t enjoying the food and wanted to go home, she wondered whether he had been stood up on his Valentine’s date, and she even pondered whether he simply had something in his eye. However, the real answer was much more upsetting.
