Being stranded in your car is horrible, and this helpful person wanted to help someone out in that sticky situation. They offered to push this person’s car, but the owner was insistent that their helper steer, while he pushed the car.
The helpful person didn’t know how to drive stick and told this to the car owner, who didn’t change his mind. Instead of hitting the brake at the right time, the helper hit the gear pedal, making the car crash, which resulted in a sarcastic “thanks” from the owner.
