This lighthearted comedy is meant to show how life can be in the good times and the bad, and how important it is to have family by your side throughout it all. Penelope is a recently single Army veteran from a very Cuban family.
She is now a nurse living with her two children, and she gets advice form her traditional mother and the manager of her building, who have both become her confidants. The witty show is based a ’70s/’80s sitcom with the same name and the first season aired in 2017. After much demand, One Day at a Time released its third season in February of 2019. Though it seems the show might be on its way to getting cancelled, despite getting positive reviews.
