The Schnauzer breed is originally from Germany where it served as a herding and ratting dog in the 15th and 16th centuries. It is very small, weighing only 12-20 pounds. However regardless of it’s size, it is extremely alert and smart. They are also a very obedient breed and although they are terrier-type dog they do not have the standard terrier personality. Their average lifespan in 12 to 15 years and they are a little bundle of joy.
