This large hole in a lake is found in California and is known as the ‘Kraken Hole.’ The hole is man-made and has a very important role of draining the lake it sits in when there are heavy rains.
It means the water doesn’t spill out into the surrounding areas, which helps to protect human and animal lives as well as anything else living nearby. Without knowing what this hole is though, it can seem as though the ground is just opening up to let some giant beast escape.
