Tom Hanks might be an incredible actor, but even he couldn’t muster up physical prowess where it didn’t exist. In fact, Hanks couldn’t actually hold the weight of Mykelti Williamson during the famous jungle scene where he carries him off the battlefield.
To help make it look like he could, behind the scenes, crew members had attached an invisible, suspension line to Williamson so it would appear as if Hanks was actually carrying him.
