While waiting for the Department of Health and Human Services to send someone to take the child away, Dolly took the child into her home. It would take some time for the authorities to arrive, so Dolly began looking after Jolene to make sure she felt comfortable.
Dolly picked her up, spoke to her, and took as much care of the little girl as possible. The baby was eventually taken from Dolly and to this day she has no idea what happened to little Jolene.
