Orange is the New Black managed to do the impossible; it actually convinced its mainstream audiences that being locked up in a minimum security prison would be a good time. Of course, we know this not to be true but watching OITNB is the best time that you’ll ever have. Laura Prepon surpasses the immortality she cultivated for herself on That 70’s Show and Natasha Lyonne exceeds all expectations, per usual. The Netflix original series tackles modern social issues in the most subtle and clever ways. Human sexuality, racial divide, financial corruption, and prison childbirth are all addressed. Orange is the New Black is a show to experience, over and over again, if you want to witness something new.
