Have you ever had your life plans completely thrown out of whack due to some unforeseen circumstances? It’s hard to make long-term plans in life because you truly never know what is in store for you. That’s what Tommy, a young man from Queensland, Australia, learned when he suddenly became a grandfather. In addition to circumstances that are beyond our control affecting what happens in life, we also make hard choices that can send us in a completely different direction than we had planned We are faced with choices every single day, from small choices such as what to eat for breakfast to larger choices like what city to move to. Each choice has the ability to change our lives a little bit, and many of these choices change other people’s lives as well.
The way that people respond to hard choices shows a great deal about their personality and reveals a lot about them as a person. Some choices are expected – children grow up knowing that they will one day decide where to go to college, or where to live when they move out of their parents’ house. Other choices, however, are a surprise. One day you are faced with unexpected circumstances and have to decide what to do. Tommy was faced with such a choice, and through his decisions, he proved what an incredible person he is.

Tommy was a thrill seeker who loves doing adventurous activities like the one you see pictured here. Even though Tommy was used to doing daring things, he could never have prepared himself for the task that he was about to take upon himself.
