Things to do if it rains on spring break, because it doesn't have to ruin your trip

Is there anything more exciting than booking your Spring Break vacation? We’re gonna take a wild guess and say that you just shouted ‘NO!’ at your laptop or phone screen – because nothing really comes close to booking your flights, booking your cabin, and booking your pre-vacation spray tan (has to be done). As your spring break trip dawns ever closer, you seem to be able to prematurely feel the heat of the blazing sun, the sand in between your toes, and see the ice melting in your tropical drinks. Unfortunately, when the day actually comes, things are a little different. Yep, it’s raining. But never fear, because the rain doesn’t have to ruin your trip!

Start your own book club

Okay, so reading might not be the first thing you were hoping to do on your spring break vacation – but you HAVE been making a neat pile of books by the side of your bed for the past six months now. A rainy trip is a perfect way to start your own book club with your friends. You can go off to a cozy corner of the cabin and read the first few chapters alone, and then come back together to gossip about why a certain character has yet to kiss the girl he quite obviously likes…

Binge watch a new series

I mean, do you even need an excuse to binge watch a brand new series on Netflix? Probably not, but a rainy spring break is an excuse worth taking. Instead of wallowing in the fact that you can’t go to the beach, grab your best girlfriends, snuggle up on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn, and pop on every single season of Friends. Could it BE any more fun?

You can get your endorphins pumping

And what’s the best way to do that? Exercise, of course! If you’re not the kind of person to wake up in the morning and go for a run, getting a sweat on could actually help you get in the mood to have fun in the rain – and it doesn’t need to be too extravagant. In fact, your friend could lay out an obstacle with a donut waiting for you at each stage. Either that or a glass of wine. Whichever floats your boat.

Chillax the day away

It’s not often you get the chance to do absolutely nothing, so you might as well just take the opportunity and let someone pamper you for the day. Yuh huh, take you and your girl’s to the local spa to splurge on the finer things in life. Have a swim, have a steam, have a massage and even have a facial if you fancy it. Treat yo’self.

Try out a local museum

Nowadays, museums have such a bad reputation, and we kinda feel sorry for them. Although we’re in a culture where it’s easier to look at a piece of artwork or an artifact from your phone, nothing quite beats going to a local museum and getting your culture on. You never know, it might be something kinda weird, like a doll museum or a chocolate museum. We bet you probably hope it would be the latter.
Just because it’s raining during your spring break vacation doesn’t mean that you have to write it off as a wasted trip. Nope, this will give you the chance to really make the most of spending time with your friends, and chill out like you’ve never chilled out before. You know you want to.
