Misty May is a retired professional beach volleyball player who is a three-time Olympic gold medalist in her sport. Matt met her at a sports therapy center in 2003 when she was still actively playing and her was there for rehabilitation. The couple married in November 2004 and welcomed their daughter Malia Barbara in 2014. Matt was a catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
