Although never actually alive when the show was on, Patty made numerous appearances as a spirit. The mother of the Halliwell sisters, she offered them help and advice whenever it was most needed, including after the death of Prue. When she’d been alive, she’d been married to the sister’s human father, Victor, but embarked on an affair with her whitelighter, Sam. This led to the breakdown of her marriage, something that could not have been fixed after Patty succumbed to the attack of a water demon.
