The actress with the raspy voice, claimed to fame with her roles in the 1981 film, Body Heat and later in Crime of Passion, Romancing the Stone and Prizzi’s Honor, for which she received a Golden Globe for Best Actress in 1985. Earlier she also did some off-Broadway work with her lead role in Mister T where she costarred with Jonathan Frakes. She also had her foot in the soap opera genre when she appeared on The Doctors.

Later in the beginning of the 90’s, Kathleen continued with her successful film career when she played in Serial Mom and Peggy Sue Got Married, a movie which earned her an OScar nomination for Best Actress in 1986. Her more recent appearances included playing Chandler Bing’s cross-dressing dad, also known as Charles Bing, on the popular sitcom, Friends. Turner has also done some voice over work. Turner married, Jay Weiss, an entrepreneur from New York City, in 1984, however the two split in 2007.
