It seems like Tom Hanks has always been there and was always the big star that he is, after all he’s one of the more likeable stars in Hollywood. However, Hanks did get his big break back in the eighties when he playes in two memorable films, Splash in 1984 and Big in 1988. Hanks did have his first career steps on small TV films where he got to be the leading star in a movie Mazes and Monsters. Later he also landed a lead role in ABC’s Bosom Buddies, where he also met his future wife.

Hanks is considered one of the most prominent Hollywood stars till this very day. He appeared in some of the most recognizable and moving films in history including Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, Cast Away and more. Throughout his career, Hanks was nominated for many important awards. He won an Oscar for Best Actor for his appearance in Philadelphia as well as a Golden Globe award. Hanks is married to his second wife, Rita Wilson since 1988, and together they are one of Hollywood’s most powerful couples.
