Dianne Wiest’s greatest years definitely started in the 80’s when she starred in Hannah and Her Sisters back in 1986, a role she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Wiest didn’t stop and went on to play in three Woody Allen films, including The Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days and September. The actress received another Oscar nomination when she played in Parenthood, a comedy drama that was directed by Ron Howard.

Later in her career in the late nineties she appeared in the epic film, Edward Scissorhands, where she starred alongside Johnny Depp. Little Man Tate, The Birdcage, Dan in Real Life and Rabbit Hole were only some of the movies that she was in later. She also played Nora Lewin on Law & Order in three different seasons. Wiest has two adopted daughters and she lives in New York City.
