The star who began acting when she was 17 years old, got her big break when she starred in Martin Scorsese’s film, a film that was not only Scorsese’s first film to direct in Hollywod, but was also on a very low budget. Later in the eigties, Hershey appeared in The Stunt Man earning her critical acclaim and marking the transition from playig girly roles to more womanly ones.

During the nineties and later on, Barbara didn’t stop and she starred in movies like Beaches and Black Swan alongside Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. She even won a Golden Globe for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniserie and an Emmy for playing Candy Morrison n A Killing in a Small Town. Till this day, Hershey still makes appearances in films and on television shows, one of the more recent ones was on the series, Damien.
