While that may be true, their homes and mansions are anything but. From Toby Keith to Dolly Parton, these are the homes of country’s biggest stars, just like they see them – from the inside!
[post_page_title]Kellie Pickler[/post_page_title]
A native of Albemarle, North Carolina, Kellie Pickler may have been a small town girl – incidentally the title of her debut album – but she’s in the big leagues now. She first came to the public’s attention after competing on American Idol, and while she didn’t win her talent took her the rest of the way. Specifically, it took her to Nashville, Tennessee, where Pickler bought a contemporary stone-faced house at only 24. The four-bedroom, 4,865-square-foot home boasts a media room, a screened porch with fireplace, and a pool. The price tag? A mere $1.43 million.
Kellie Pickler

[post_page_title]Faith Hill[/post_page_title]
Has there ever been a bigger country power couple than Johnny and June Cash? Actually, there might have been! Faith Hill and Tim McGraw give the Cashes a run for their (ahem) money. Married since 1996, the two have three children – but countless hits. The five-time Grammy winner and her husband share something else as well – their own private island in the Bahamas. Located on Goat Cay island, Faith and Tim built a home completely from scratch, with each room being its own separate building. The challenge? Utilities like water and electricity needed to be put in especially.
Faith Hill

[post_page_title]Jason Aldean[/post_page_title]
Everything Jason Aldean has is largely thanks to his father, who taught him how to play guitar. The singer-songwriter’s talents carried him the rest of the way, though – a way that includes multi-platinum albums. Part-owner of the Buck Commander hunting company along with other country stars, Aldean lived in a property that wasn’t a home so much as a country castle. The 120-acre estate in Columbia, Tennessee, houses a 8,900-square-foot mansion that had actual turrets. Turrets! The six bedrooms are almost an afterthought at that point, as are the built-in bowling alley, wet bar, and wine cellar.
Jason Aldean

[post_page_title]Reba McEntire[/post_page_title]
Reba is so famous that just saying her first name’s enough to know who we’re talking about. If you insist, though, Reba Nell McEntire has shown legendary staying power, her first album dropping in 1977 and her latest in 2019. First singing in high school, she’s now known as the “Queen of Country” with 75 million records sold worldwide. Also sold was her palatial Lebanon, Tennessee, estate. The riverside Starstruck Farms sold for $5 million, and boasts a private park, eight-car garage, tennis court, and home cinema. We’re sure she used to screen Reba there on a loop…
Reba McEntire

[post_page_title]Jessie James Decker[/post_page_title]
Jessie James Decker is one of the youngest acts on this list – and the only one born in Vicenza, Italy. An Army brat, she moved around a lot and absorbed country influences like a sponge. Nevertheless, she was rejected by multiple Nashville labels until one finally decided to take a chance. Boy, did it ever pay off. Jessie and her husband, retired NFL wide receiver Eric Decker, moved into their opulent Nashville abode a couple of years ago. The 70-acre property is surrounded by nature, and inside everything’s decked out in Jessie’s own style – “Southern, French, and warm.”
Jessie James Decker

[post_page_title]Natalie Maines[/post_page_title]
Say what you will about her politics, and Lord knows many people have, but no one can disparage Dixie Chicks frontwoman Natalie Maines’ talent. The tiny Texan has been fronting The Chicks, as the band is now called after their recent name change, since 1995 and there’s little doubt she’s a major part of their country stardom. The winner of 13 Grammys, Maines bought a home in Austin, along with her now-ex husband Adrian Pasdar. The $1.82 million, 4,891-square-foot home has four bedrooms, which now someone else is sleeping in because Natalie and Adrian moved out.
Natalie Maines

[post_page_title]Randy Travis[/post_page_title]
Not even a massive stroke could keep Randy Travis from doing what he loves. In 2013, both his career and life nearly came to an end following said stroke. Not only did Travis have to learn to play the guitar again, but he had to learn to walk and speak as well. Thankfully, he’s made a full recovery – and he did it while living in this Santa Fe, New Mexico ranch. Complete with room for a tour bus and a bowling alley, the 220-acre property has 20,000 square feet of living space… and a home for Randy’s pet buffalo!
Randy Travis

[post_page_title]Miranda Lambert[/post_page_title]
Miranda Lambert is one of country music’s biggest stars. Before her 2005 debut, though, she competed on a singing contest, Nashville Star, which she didn’t even win! Pretty ironic, considering she later won two Grammys. Her marriage to Blake Shelton now in her rearview mirror, Lambert tied the knot with NYPD Officer Brendan McLoughlin in 2019, and the two live in a sprawling complex outside Nashville. Surrounded by 400 acres of farmland, the property consists of three residences (one being a 3,544-square-foot main house), a lake and boathouse, and a pavilion capable of seating 60 for private concerts.
Miranda Lambert

[post_page_title]Loretta Lynn[/post_page_title]
Though she’s nearly 90, country legend Loretta Lynn is still chugging along, as busy as she ever was in her 60-year career. She continues to tour, perform at the Grand Ole Opry, and even release new albums – her latest came out in 2018. She has four Grammys and countless other awards. She also has the only home on this list you can actually visit. Since she relocated to a nearby residence several years ago – she owns the whole town, by the way – her Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, is open to visitors. Be careful if you do, though – it’s seriously haunted.
Loretta Lynn

[post_page_title]Blake Shelton[/post_page_title]
Blake Shelton is the quintessential country star. Hailing from tiny Ada, Oklahoma, Shelton’s been mesmerizing audiences since his 2001 debut. Also mesmerized by Blake is new love Gwen Stefani. They live on a private beach near Lake Texoma, Oklahoma’s largest lake. Don’t worry, though – they’ll be moving to a brand new home in Encino, California, soon. The 13,000-square-foot home will sit on a 1.6-acre lot, and will include a four-car garage, home theater, pool and spa, and an outdoor kitchen and bar. Don’t think about passing by for a glimpse, though – it’ll reportedly be invisible from street level.
Blake Shelton

[post_page_title]Dolly Parton[/post_page_title]
With $600 million, Dolly Parton’s the richest star here. It certainly didn’t seem it’d be this way when she started, though. Raised “dirt poor” (her words), the doctor who delivered her was paid with a bag of oatmeal. Today, in her mid-70s, Parton is perhaps the biggest name in country music history, with countless hit records. While we don’t know much about her current home, the one she lived in before is spectacular. Located in Nashville, the four-bedroom stucco house sits on 2.4 acres and has changed very little since Dolly occupied it with husband Carl Dean.
Dolly Parton

[post_page_title]George Strait[/post_page_title]
When someone’s been dubbed the “King of Country,” you know he ain’t playing around. George Strait certainly was not. In an era of big hair and bigger synthesizer solos, Strait brought country back to its down-home roots. With a career culminating in an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the King has $300 million to his name – and is living lavish. How do we know? In 2019, Strait listed his San Antonio for $8.9 million. The beautiful 8,000-square-foot Southwestern-style home was 100% custom designed, and includes custom stained glass windows, 14 fireplaces, and three bedrooms.
George Strait

[post_page_title]Kenny Chesney[/post_page_title]
Kenny Chesney is an enigmatic figure in country music. His albums have all gone at least Gold, and in 2015 Forbes estimated his annual income to be $42 million, so why do we know so little about him? We know he married Renée Zellweger in 2005, and that the marriage was annulled after four months, but little else beyond that. Luckily, we know a bit more about his living situation. With his Virgin Islands mansion destroyed by a hurricane, Chesney now resides in Franklin, Tennessee, in a 11,143-square-foot Tuscan-style villa with five bedrooms, home theater, private pond, and helipad.
Kenny Chesney

[post_page_title]Luke Bryan[/post_page_title]
Considering Luke Bryan is practically everywhere, it’s kind of surprising to realize his career spans less than a decade and a half. Boy howdy, he’s accomplished a lot in that time! The winner of multiple American, Billboard and Country Music Awards, Bryan’s sold more than seven million albums. Not impressed yet? Add American Idol judge to the list as well. Bryan’s four-story seaside Florida home, nicknamed Snowman after his late brother, reflects his success. The best part about the beachfront “Miami Vice meets Dynasty” property, according to Luke’s wife, is that it allows him to fish all day.
Luke Bryan

[post_page_title]Martina McBride[/post_page_title]
Did you know Martina McBride started out selling merchandise for Garth Brooks? It’s true. Before her big break, her husband was Brooks’ sound engineer, and Martina joined him to make some money on the side. Brooks happened to hear her sing and was impressed enough to allow her to open for him. The end result? A career spanning almost three decades, and a $38 million net worth. McBride’s lives in a six-bedroom, neoclassical-style home that’s 100 years old. The 13,000-square-foot property ISN’T where she films her cooking show… but it does have its own waterfall!
Martina McBride

[post_page_title]Kenny Rogers[/post_page_title]
It takes a certain kind of artist to spin off a song into multiple movies, but that’s Kenny Rogers’ star power for you. When he sadly passed in March, 2020, aged 81 – it felt too soon. He was one of the best-selling musical acts of all-time, and left behind a $250 million fortune. Rogers’ last big home was in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The 12,730-square-foot property was located on a 1.5-acre estate, and boasted 22 rooms, a Roman spa, and more. Heck, there’s even a complete apartment above the adjacent garage!
Kenny Rogers

[post_page_title]Brad Paisley[/post_page_title]
There are two things Brad Paisley is almost never seen without – his cowboy hat and his smile. Though pushing 50, the (cow)boy next door is still cranking out Gold records – all of his albums have been certified at least that. Three Grammys, a member of the Grand Ole Opry – there’s really little Paisley HASN’T done. Though Brad and his wife Kimberly now reside in Franklin, Tennessee, we’d like to shine a light on their former abode in California. Their former 3,394-square-foot property was built in the 1920s, and boasted stained glass windows, four bedrooms, and stunning vistas.
Brad Paisley

[post_page_title]Sheryl Crow[/post_page_title]
When it comes to the rock and pop side of country, few names are bigger than Sheryl Crow’s. The singer-songwriter has also enjoyed a considerable amount of cross-over success, boasting fans who aren’t into country and aren’t even American. Funny, considering the Missouri native tried everything else first, from being a high school track star to writing ad jingles for McDonald’s. The nine-time Grammy winner owned a 50-acre home with its very own recording studio, saloon, stables, and even chapel. The home is adorned with countless antiques that Crow herself picked up – where does she find the time?
Sheryl Crow

[post_page_title]Tanya Tucker[/post_page_title]
A lot of music stars have staying power, but Tanya Tucker is a unicorn in this regard. She started out at the tender age of 13, and now in her early 60s she’s still performing, her fanbase having grown up alongside her. In fact, she’s only just won her first Grammy in 2020! So where did this woman-about-town hang her hat? Why, Franklin, Tennessee, of course. Tucker lived in a 5,478-square-foot, 5-bedroom manor, complete with formal dining room and even stained glass windows. Unfortunately, she soon discovered she’d much rather live in the country with her horses, and bailed.
Tanya Tucker

[post_page_title]Kacey Musgraves[/post_page_title]
One of the fastest rising stars in country, Kacey Musgraves is in her early 30s but already has six Grammys. She’s also a prime example of how reality TV can launch careers. She participated in the Nashville Star singing contest, and didn’t even crack the top five – but it got her name out there. What also helped get her name out is her home, which has been featured in multiple styling and interior design websites. In what can only be described as a cross between traditional Western motifs and glam chic, Musgraves’ pad is as one-of-a-kind as she is.
Kacey Musgraves

[post_page_title]Shania Twain[/post_page_title]
Known as the “Queen of Country Pop,” Shania Twain is the best selling-female artist in country music history, and one of the best of all-time. Also, she’s Canadian! Actually, the first album the Windsor, Ontario, native released was a flop. Are we ever glad she stuck with it, though. The Canadian crooner has a home fit for a queen. Located in New Providence Island in The Bahamas, Shania’s 7,000 square-foot home has five bedrooms and a panoramic view of the Caribbean. Surrounded by a full acre of beach, the home could reportedly be yours – if you have $11 million.
Shania Twain

[post_page_title]Leann Rimes[/post_page_title]
LeAnn Rimes’ debut album dropped when she was 13. That sounds super early, but she was already a grizzled vet by then, having been on-stage since she was five. LeAnn basically never looked back. She’s also an accomplished actress, and it was on the set of a Lifetime movie that she met current husband, Eddie Cibrian. Too bad they were both married to other people at the time… The two reside in Hidden Hills, California. Their Spanish-style castle sits on two acres and has 8,600 square feet of living space, six bedrooms, a pool, and a guest house.
Leann Rimes

[post_page_title]Carrie Underwood[/post_page_title]
Back in 2005, a young lady from Muskogee, Oklahoma, won season four of American Idol. That young lady was Carrie Underwood. Her debut single made her the first country singer to debut at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, while her debut album became the best-selling solo female debut in country history. When you see Underwood’s mansion in Brentwood, Tennessee, you realize just how successful she is. The 7,000-square-foot property has four bedrooms, a wet bar, fitness center and tennis court. Carrie and hubby Mike Fisher have since sold it, searching for their “forever home.”
Carrie Underwood

[post_page_title]Keith Urban[/post_page_title]
Of all the American musical genres, country might be the most patriotic. So how could someone raised in Australia become one of its biggest stars? Honestly, it’s probably down to talent, something Keith Urban has plenty of. As if he was a red-blooded American, Urban has been churning out hit after hit since his 1999 debut. He and his wife, A-lister Nicole Kidman, also churn out homes, with properties in L.A., New York, and even Australia. Their main crib is in Franklin, Tennessee – a 10,925-square-foot home with seven bedrooms, tennis court, and swimming pool.
Keith Urban

[post_page_title]Taylor Swift[/post_page_title]
Before Taylor Swift turned 30, she was already one of the best-selling artists ever. Not just country, but music history. She inked her first record deal at 15, and her third single made her the youngest person to perform and write a number-one song on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Swift’s talent is matched only by the number of properties she owns. There are at least six, but the biggest one is a 12,000-square-foot beachside Rhode Island mansion, which cost nearly $18 million – and she reportedly paid cash. Seven bedrooms, pool, and views extending 700 feet – where’s our invite?
Taylor Swift

[post_page_title]Kelly Clarkson[/post_page_title]
We know what you’re thinking. No, it’s not blasphemy to group Kelly Clarkson in with the likes of Shania Twain and Blake Shelton. While she isn’t as synonymous with the genre, she’s certainly dabbled in it. Kelly’s come a long way since winning American Idol’s first season – all the way to a Daytime Emmy win. While she split with current hubby Brandon Blackstock, she still has her 10,000-square-foot Encino, California, home. Boasting eight bedrooms, the property also has a pool, spa, and an outdoor kitchen. In fact, just her two-story guest house is nicer than most people’s actual homes.
Kelly Clarkson

[post_page_title]Garth Brooks[/post_page_title]
In 2000, Garth Brooks officially announced his retirement from both recording and touring. Just like Michael Corleone in The Godfather, however, just when he thought he was out they pulled him back in. Today, Brooks is performing again and has an album out in 2020. In between, he became the best-selling solo artist in history, ahead of Elvis. Fittingly, Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood own several properties. Let’s hone in on their former Malibu pad, though. The single-story, 4,200-square-foot ranch-style property also has four bedrooms and an open chef’s kitchen and basketball court – because why not?
Garth Brooks

[post_page_title]Toby Keith[/post_page_title]
Toby Keith should’ve been a cowboy. That’s not us saying that – it’s the title of his debut single, which became the most-played country song of the ’90s. He’s certainly come a long way since busking on the street and passing his demo out to Nashville record labels, all of which turned him away. Bet they’re feeling pretty silly now… Keith lives in his native Oklahoma, but his former Nashville home is a beaut. The 3,400-square-foot house only has two bedrooms, but miles of living space. It’s three stories of tall ceilings and hardwood, with a swimming pool outside.
Toby Keith

[post_page_title]Emmylou Harris[/post_page_title]
Though she was born in Alabama, Emmylou Harris’ musical career actually kicked off in the chic cafés of New York City’s Greenwich Village, playing folk tunes. That was the late ’60s. Fast forward a decade or so later and Emmylou reinvented herself as country act – and won unparalleled success. Her uniqueness is also reflected in her Nashville home. While some celebs have bowling alleys and wine cellars, Emmylou has her very own animal shelter! Dubbed Bonaparte’s Retreat, the shelter rescues animals about to be put down by Nashville animal control.
Emmylou Harris

[post_page_title]Willie Nelson[/post_page_title]
If we asked someone to name the most famous male country star they know, there’s a fair chance they’d say Willie Nelson. Nelson pioneered outlaw country while also acting in movies and authoring several books. After some rough patches, Nelson’s doing alright financially. The best proof of that is where he lives. In 1985, he released the movie Red Headed Stranger, based on his album of the same name. A town was built to serve as backdrop, and it still stands today. Dubbed Luck, Texas, the town is part of his 700-acre property, where he lives along with some 70 horses he saved from slaughterhouses.
Willie Nelson

See the original article here.

Unlike those in rock or rap, country stars have an image of being simple, humble folk from the heartland of America.
