It can be embarrassing even in the best of situations, and when it happened to one bride at her wedding, it was simply mortifying.
Thanks, Dad

During the ceremony, the bride’s dad turned to her and said, “You know, it’s not too late to back out, honey. Nobody will think badly of you.” He thought he was keeping quiet, but everyone in the church heard how he truly felt.

[post_page_title]Wrestling ring bearers[/post_page_title]
One of the cutest parts of any wedding is when little kids take part, but children can also be unpredictable.
Wrestling ring bearers

The two ring bearers at this wedding were brothers, and when it was time to walk down the aisle, the older brother nudged the younger one to start walking. The little guy didn’t take the nudge so well, and pushed his brother right back. Then, the pair started pushing and wrestling all the way down the aisle. Some people thought it was funny, but the bride sure didn’t.

[post_page_title]Dress drama[/post_page_title]
Many brides spend a lot of time, energy, and money finding the perfect white dress for their big day. White dresses can be dangerous, however.
Dress drama

One bride’s mother hung the wedding gown from the sprinkler in her hotel room before the wedding. Then, the pipes in the hotel broke during the night, covering the dress in mold and dirt. Luckily, the designer was able to soak it to remove the stains, they quickly blew it dry, and nobody knew that there had even been a close call.

[post_page_title]Mowed over[/post_page_title]
When you get a whole bunch of guests together to celebrate, there’s no telling what could happen. At this wedding, that was definitely the case.
Mowed over

One of the guests enjoyed himself a little bit too much, and seems to have lost control of what he was doing. He somehow broke into the caretaker’s shed and found a ride-on lawnmower inside. He then went for a joy-ride on the lawnmower, and was chased by four staff members before one finally put an end to it.

[post_page_title]Groom doom[/post_page_title]
This is probably one of the worst things that could possibly happen at a wedding. At the end of the night, the groom went up to the wedding planner in order to thank her for the successful day.
Groom doom

His judgement was a bit fuzzy after the event, and instead of simply thanking her, he leaned in to try to kiss the wedding planner. She quickly turned her head to avoid the awkward moment and he ended up kissing her cheek and then giving her a hug.

[post_page_title]The icing on the cake[/post_page_title]
The cake is an important part of the wedding, and a lot of hard work goes into getting the perfect cake. At one wedding, a little girl just couldn’t keep her hands off of the frosting.
The icing on the cake

She went up to the cake and dug her fingers into the frosting. At first nobody noticed, but when the Maid of Honor caught on, she called the wedding planner. That’s when they saw the finger marks all over the bottom of the cake. To make matters worse, the girl’s mom refused to help.

[post_page_title]Musical mom[/post_page_title]
During the ceremony, all of the attention is supposed to be on the couple. When the bride and groom are exchanging vows, it’s usually one of the most special and emotional parts of the whole wedding.
Musical mom

So when the mother of the groom broke out into song during the vows, everyone was horrified. She wasn’t even singing anything recognizable – just some “random words” that she felt were fitting for the event. We can only guess that fitting it wasn’t.

[post_page_title]A sweaty celebration[/post_page_title]
If you’re planning a wedding, it’s a good idea to think about all of the things that could go wrong so that you can come up with a backup plan. That’s something that this couple learned the hard way.
A sweaty celebration

They held their wedding in an underground basement with only one exit. The night of the event was hot and rainy, and the basement got warmer and warmer until finally, the air conditioning blew out. The guests had nowhere to go, so they ate their dinner, sweating in the basement.

[post_page_title]Call it off[/post_page_title]
These other stories are pretty bad, but at least they ended in a marriage. This one didn’t turn out even that well. The day before the wedding, the bride and groom sat down to fill out the paperwork for the marriage license.
Call it off

Then all of a sudden, the mood at the table changed. The groom shoved the papers away from him and said, “I’m not sure we’re ready to take this step. We’re not ready to get married yet.” And with that, he broke up with the bride.

[post_page_title]Better late than never[/post_page_title]
When the bride was six hours late, the guests started to get annoyed and begged for food. Finally, the bride showed up, the couple got married, and the reception began.
Better late than never

As the event went on, the reason for her delay became known – the groom had received a text from his best man’s wife, who was a friend of his. The bride had been spying on his messages, and thought he was cheating on her. A fight ensued, but in the end, the couple made up and they tied the knot.

[post_page_title]Who let the dogs out[/post_page_title]
This is one of the stranger things that has happened at a wedding. Right when the bride was going to walk down the aisle, two huge dogs ran into the venue.
Who let the dogs out

They raced through the doors and slid across the floor, before running outside into the grass and then jumping in the pool. Then, those two big wet dogs rolled around in the lawn, making it into a muddy mess. It was not a pleasant surprise for the bride and groom.

[post_page_title]Prettier in pink[/post_page_title]
Usually, the bride makes all fashion decisions in advance, so that by the day of the wedding, everything runs smoothly. This bride, however, realized the morning of her wedding that she hated her dress.
Prettier in pink

For some reason, the bride decided that she wanted a pink dress. When the wedding planner refused to either dye her dress or find her a new one on a moment’s notice, the bride threw a fit. In the end, she got married, but didn’t look too happy about it.

[post_page_title]Solo first dance[/post_page_title]
Everyone knows that weddings tend to run behind schedule, but one bride just couldn’t accept that. She wanted things to happen exactly on time.
Solo first dance

So when the time for dancing was approaching, the bride insisted that they would begin the Hora, a traditional Jewish wedding dance, exactly on time. As planned, the music began at 8:00 pm and the guests formed a circle around the bride. The groom, however, was nowhere to be found, and the dance ended without him. The bride was hysterical.

[post_page_title]The groom’s speech[/post_page_title]
The groom usually spends some time on his speech, because it’s an important part of the wedding. One groom, however, told his wedding planner during the wedding breakfast that he didn’t have a speech, and asked her to write one.
The groom’s speech

She pulled out her index cards and quickly scribbled some bullet points, expecting that the groom would fill in the details. He didn’t, and when the time came for the speech, he simply read the notes off of the cards. Nobody was impressed, least of all the bride.

[post_page_title]Money mania[/post_page_title]
Usually, the bride and groom wait until after the wedding is over to check out their gifts. This bride, however, was impatient and it led to disaster.
Money mania

She had asked for money only, and during the dancing, she went over to the envelopes and began opening them, counting the cash she had received. There was less than she expected, which she assumed meant that she had been robbed. The bride called the police, lined up the guests, and asked each one how much they had gifted her. Everyone was shocked.

[post_page_title]Too much toast[/post_page_title]
There’s nothing that kills the mood at a wedding like a toast that just goes on and on. That’s what happened at this wedding, when the mother of the bride began giving a toast and realized that she really liked the sound of her own voice.
Too much toast

She talked for a full 22 minutes, name-dropping every single famous person that she had introduced to the bride. Nobody was particularly impressed – they all just wanted it to be over so they could get back to the celebration.

[post_page_title]Tricky transport[/post_page_title]
Your very own wedding is not the place that you want to discover that you have a severe allergy. One groom learned the hard way that he was allergic to horses.
Tricky transport

The bride and groom were pulled in a horse-drawn carriage to the gazebo when he began to have a serious reaction. His face turned red and began to swell up and they even called an ambulance. The groom was okay after he took some antihistamines, but his face was so swollen they couldn’t take any pictures.

[post_page_title]Special year[/post_page_title]
We’ve all heard a bride’s wedding day called her “special day,” but this bride took it a step further. She wanted the entire year she got married to be her “special year.”
Special year

That meant that according to her, nobody else was allowed to get married. She had a breakdown when another one of her friends got engaged around the same time as she did and then threw a fit when she learned that said friend had scheduled her wedding for the same year as her wedding.

[post_page_title]Father of the bride[/post_page_title]
When you’re a wedding planner, one of the hardest parts of your job tends to be dealing with the families of the bride and groom. In this case, the father of the bride was so out of control that the police got involved.
Father of the bride

The bride forgot to pay for the cake, so of course, no cake arrived at the wedding. When the dad learned about this, he went looking for the wedding planner. He started screaming and threatening her so severely that he was arrested and taken to jail.

[post_page_title]This takes the cake[/post_page_title]
After the bride and groom cut the cake, everyone wants to taste a piece. At one wedding, however, the cake disappeared completely after they cut the first slice.
This takes the cake

The bride went looking for it, and started asking around. She found out that the servers had helped themselves to it! They had started eating the cake and there wasn’t much left. In order to save the day, they cut the remaining cake into smaller pieces, so the guests could still have a taste.

[post_page_title]Ceremony scare[/post_page_title]
If there’s no officiant, the wedding simply can’t go on. During one particular wedding ceremony, the person who was officiating the event passed out in the middle.
Ceremony scare

Everyone started to get worried, especially the bride and groom, but luckily, the wedding planner was prepared. She pulled out some smelling salts which she kept in her wedding emergency kit (how did she know?) and was able to revive him pretty quickly. 20 minutes later, the ceremony continued and the couple was married.

[post_page_title]Disappearing dad[/post_page_title]
We can only imagine that most brides would be extremely disappointed if their father didn’t show up to their wedding. That nearly happened to one bride, when her dad went missing the day of the wedding.
Disappearing dad

He disappeared for over an hour before he was finally found. The wedding planner had to talk him into coming to the event, convincing him that his daughter was truly happy but would be devastated if he was a no show. Eventually, the father went to get ready and didn’t cause any more problems.

[post_page_title]Emergency interruption[/post_page_title]
When wedding guests get too out of control, they tend to steal the spotlight from the bride and groom. At one wedding, a guest was enjoying himself a bit too much, and lost his judgement skills.
Emergency interruption

Towards the end of the night, he ran to the nearby river and jumped in. When nobody could find him, every sort of emergency rescue team was called to the scene. They were afraid that the worst had happened, but an hour later, the guest was found and he was in perfect health.

[post_page_title]Too many demands[/post_page_title]
One wedding planner was in for a surprise when the bride went full-on for her big day. It all started when she fired the best man and her maid of honor, but that was just the beginning. She went on to refuse to dance with her dad. Her reason?
Too many demands

Apparently, someone challenged her attitude. The list of demands continued to grow until even the priest was refusing to marry the couple, and most of the guests had gone. The wedding planner thankfully talked the priest around, but most had left by this point.

[post_page_title]Got it covered[/post_page_title]
There are many jobs that come with being a wedding planner, but it looked as though the couple had already got one aspect covered. They had organized their own DJ, who turned out to be a friend of the groom’s. It sounded too good to be true.
Got it covered

It wasn’t long before this wedding planner learned that was the case. She says that the DJ spent the entire night playing songs through his phone as he searched them up on the internet, and had no idea what some songs even were.

[post_page_title]Planning for others[/post_page_title]
Some wedding planners have to be prepared for everything – especially when it looks as though others have forgotten to keep up their end of the deal. One mother of the bride decided that the morning of the ceremony was the perfect time to buy her outfit.
Planning for others

This was just the beginning, as the makeup artist was missing in action. No one was able to get hold of them, but this wedding planner had it covered. She called in a special favor to make sure that everyone was ready for the big day.

[post_page_title]Uninvited guest[/post_page_title]
Sometimes, wedding planners get to sit back and watch as everything comes together. Other times? They find themselves with no idea what to do as everything starts to unfold in front of them. One wealthy couple apparently went all out for this big day.
Uninvited guest

Sadly, the groom’s ex-partner learned about the wedding and thought that she would attend – uninvited. The wedding planner said that she spent the night shouting about how she was still in love with the groom from the other side of the fence.

[post_page_title]Fashionably late[/post_page_title]
Many of us have heard stories of brides being late, but what about the groom? One groom was not one, not two, but three hours late to the ceremony. Apparently, he only just picked up his tux when he was already two hours late.
Fashionably late

The venue was on the point of canceling the entire thing as they only had the groom’s number and no way to get in contact with him. Everything finally went ahead when he showed up, even though people had wondered if he would ever arrive.

[post_page_title]Stealing the spotlight[/post_page_title]
Many brides like to have their family involved in the wedding. Sadly, one wedding planner found herself in the middle of a sisterly dispute when one bride asked her sister to be her maid of honor. The engagement came and went without a hitch.
Stealing the spotlight

That was until the MOH announced that she was pregnant. Apparently, this was enough to see the bride go into full meltdown mode as she thought that her sister was trying to take all the attention by being pregnant at the ceremony.

[post_page_title]Standing out[/post_page_title]
One wedding planner was about to deal with a bride who wanted to make sure that she looked the best in the room – no matter the cost. They arrived at the wedding venue, where they only had to follow the sound of screaming to find the bride.
Standing out

When the wedding planner opened the door, the bride was shouting at her bridesmaids because she supposedly thought they looked prettier. She wanted the hair and makeup artists to change their hair to “look uglier” so that no one could steal her spotlight.

[post_page_title]It’s like rain on your wedding day[/post_page_title]
They say that rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck. Sadly, one bride didn’t feel that way. It all started when her wedding planner said that she’d have to change her choice of flowers as the ones she wanted were out of season.
It’s like rain on your wedding day

Then, on the day of the ceremony, there was a massive storm that knocked out the power. The hotel used generators to power her wedding, but the bride later tried to sue the florist and hotel for the mixup and the storm. Surprisingly, she later backed out.

[post_page_title]Bride with a plan[/post_page_title]
Unfortunately, not everyone has a bank account to fund their dream wedding. One bride had a plan to make sure she got her cake and ate it, too. It all started when they hired various people to help at her wedding.
Bride with a plan

Everyone raved about the service until the next day. The bride wrote harsh reviews across the internet and said that she would only take them down if she got a refund. Apparently, this was her way of making sure she could afford the night.

[post_page_title]Family feud[/post_page_title]
Not all families get along. However, it might be best to save your personal opinions until after the big day. It turned out that one bride didn’t get along with the groom’s family, but the wedding planner later learned that it was hers that made some issues.
Family feud

The bride apparently yelled at the vendors all day, made the photographer cry, and saw the videographer leave after just one hour. The wedding planner was greeted by the groom’s family, apologizing for her behavior throughout the night.

[post_page_title]Rescheduling flights[/post_page_title]
One bride was about to take the biscuit for one of the most outrageous requests of all time. She wanted to use a venue that was 15 minutes from an international airport. This was perfect for guests flying in from out of town.
Rescheduling flights

However, the noise of the planes was too much for the bride to handle. She wanted the wedding planner to call every airline flying into the airport to make sure that no flights took off of landed throughout her ceremony.

[post_page_title]A little too involved[/post_page_title]
It’s not just brides and grooms that have caused issues for wedding planners. One wedding also came with a mom who wanted to make sure that she was as involved in the big day as she could possibly be – even when no one wanted her help.
A little too involved

The groom’s mom called the planner to ask if they could change the date. The planned was confused, so they decided to call the couple. Apparently, they never wanted to change the date and asked them to ignore all future requests from his mom.

[post_page_title]Keep calm and carry on[/post_page_title]
Sure, getting married outside is an excellent idea for some, but it’s turned into a bad choice for others. One bride wanted to make sure that she looked perfect for her big day, even though it meant that her guests had to sit in the heat for an hour.
Keep calm and carry on

The bride eventually walked down the aisle, but her brother passed out from heatstroke during the ceremony. The bride insisted that they carry on, meaning the photos of the couple walking down the aisle were filled with the ambulance in the background.

[post_page_title]In love with another[/post_page_title]
Many couples get cold feet before they walk down the aisle. However, one wedding planner was about to be the reason for those second thoughts. He got a call from the bride just a few days before the big day. Apparently, she couldn’t marry her partner.
In love with another

She was in love with someone else. The person in question? Yes, you guessed it, the wedding planner. He explained that he was only doing his job because he was getting paid. The bride went on to walk down the aisle with her partner.

[post_page_title]More than a little late[/post_page_title]
It looked as though things were off to a bad start when the groom was 30 minutes late to the ceremony. However, this was topped off with the bride being 2 hours late to the event. This was just the beginning.
More than a little late

The wedding planner had to shorten other aspects of the wedding to try and make up for the lost time. That apparently didn’t mean anything to the newlyweds who disappeared for hours. They eventually arrived at 11pm, where they discovered that food had been served, and most people had left.

[post_page_title]Causing a flap[/post_page_title]
Pets at weddings are becoming more and more popular as people want all members of the family to be involved. However, it’s probably best to check with the bride and groom before you bring your pet along for the day.
Causing a flap

Not only did one mom turn up in a white dress, but she had another guest by her side: a parrot. No, this wasn’t a small family pet. It was actually a huge red macaw that spent the entire time screaming and squawking.

[post_page_title]Follow the rules[/post_page_title]
One bride had some strange requests for her new family-in-law. She wanted everyone to fly to New Orleans, but only the men were allowed to be in her week-long celebrations while the women had to find other things to do. That was just the beginning.
Follow the rules

She also told all the women they had to follow a strict dress code that included wearing a floor-length dress, one that was a shade of gold or blush, a shimmery gown, and no lace. The best bit? They weren’t even in the wedding party.
Disclaimer: Some photos may be stock images used for illustration purposes only.
