\nThough car safety is at an all-time high, it doesn’t stop the occasional accident, so many drivers have begun to install dash cams in their vehicles to try and clear up who is at fault should an accident happen. The dash cams are there to capture other road users\u2019 indiscretions as well as clear their users of blame, but that is not all that these handy cameras have been filming.
\nThe dash cams drivers install in their cars can now capture all sorts of events, and some of them are less than ordinary. These are the times dash cams caught something truly terrifying – manmade or otherwise – in the lens.

\nThe police officer won’t appreciate it, and there\u2019s a good chance you might be unknowingly inviting something else to get in your car. This deer saw an opportunity and chose to investigate what the owner of this vehicle had hidden inside. The deer left disappointed as all that was in the car was some venison jerky.

\nSome people like to stick to the main highways as much as possible when driving at night for the simple reason that they don\u2019t know who or what is lurking around the corners of the smaller roads.

\nThe chair is now heading straight for another road, so you do your best to catch up to it and intercept before something tragic happens. This child was incredibly lucky that there was no traffic on this road as it uncontrollably rolled into it.

\nPolice officers these days have to have eyes in the back of their heads. This officer stopped and was out of his car attending to a traffic incident when he had to think on his feet.

\nAfter returning to the police car, another vehicle came incredibly close to wiping the officer out. It was only his quick reactions to leap out of the way that saved this police officer from suffering a tragic fate at the hand of this nighttime driver.

\nYou\u2019ve been waiting all evening to have a meal from the drive-thru and no matter what you\u2019re determined to get it now. All of a sudden your car catches fire, but that won’t stop you, and you pull up to the window anyway.

\nLuckily another car came in behind and had the foresight to push this blazing vehicle out of the way. The dash cam shows the driver shunting the blazing pickup through the drive-thru to a safe spot.

\nObviously we all try and avoid accidents as best we can, but sometimes they are unavoidable. The scary thing about having an accident, apart from the potentially life-threatening injuries, is that the person you crash into doesn’t have insurance.

\nThis driver plowed into another at a junction but instead of admitting fault they opened their door and bolted, denying any responsibility whatsoever. \nThis is the moment a police dash cam captured a meteor hurtling toward Earth. It looks as though it\u2019s from an end of the world disaster movie where the meteor hits and wipes out half of the planet\u2019s population.

\nThis huge plane lost control and was at risk of crashing into this bridge, potentially putting more lives at risk than just those onboard. On its way down, the plane\u2019s wing did hit both the bridge and the yellow vehicle, completely writing off the car but leaving the bridge intact.

This driver was driving behind this truck in relative safety but then out of nowhere the truck hit a hole in the road and one of its tires popped off, giving the car behind a nasty surprise.

\nBeing caught in high winds can be scary enough as your vehicle is blown from side to side and it feels as though you have little control.

\nThis vehicle was driving through a particularly woody part of the world when stuck in a big storm, this caused the trees to pretty much collapse right in front of them. While traveling at a fairly constant speed this tree dropped out of nowhere on the driver before another five or six trees followed suit, littering the road with trunks and debris.

\nClowns are clearly scary to lots of people, otherwise there wouldn’t be a whole bunch of folks dressing like them to freak out drivers. This clown was loitering in the middle of the road just waiting for a car to come by, and when it did the clown sprung into action.

\nFirst they slowly ambled toward the vehicle and its driver before launching into a sprint, following the car as it rapidly reversed out of the terrifying situation.

\nThe person on this side of the fallen tree was fortunate enough to spot the obstruction lying in the road before it was too late. The truck on the other side was not so fortunate and had to slam on the brakes while crossing their fingers they could stop in time.

\nThis creepy footage was taken along, what appears to be, a dirty, remote path. As the car slows to a stop, an unsettling creature appears, crawling on all fours with grayish or pink toned skin.

\nThis footage was taken by this guy on a motorcycle on his way to Ooty, a small town found in the hills of Southern India. As he is riding along in the darkness, a small figure covered from top to bottom in a long, red veil appears.

\nThis extraordinary footage was captured by a dash cam in the Sverdlovsk region, Russia just after 6:30pm. The road had been completely dark, with a few tail lights being the only light-source on the road.

\nAll of a sudden, the sky is illuminated with a bright orange flash, which quickly disappears and the darkness returns.
