\nShe has then gone on to appear in numerous film and television roles, including crime drama CSI, comedy film Free Samples, and sitcom Cougar Town. Most recently, Hedren returned to her modeling days and is currently modeling timepieces for Gucci.

It was his first major awards show appearance since the 2011 Oscars.

\nStand-up comic Jackie Mason\u2019s unique brand of humor – deeply inspired by his Jewish identity – was highly influential in the comedy circuit, as his attitude won him a multitude of fans, as well as got him into some hot water once when he was accused of giving legendary variety show host Ed Sullivan a rude gesture.

\nMason\u2019s 1986 one-man show The World According to Me was incredibly successful, and won him both an Emmy and a Tony, as well as a nomination for a Grammy. He was still acting as recently as 2011, and still voices Krusty the Clown\u2019s father Hyman on The Simpsons every so often.

\nBack in the early days of Disney animation, the animators\u2019 work was even harder than it is today, as they had no computers to help them with the process.

\nTo that end, they made extensive use of models, and Champion was one such model, used in several Disney projects, especially as a model for dancing. She helped create such classics as Fantasia, Dumbo, and Pinocchio, and even worked on the studio\u2019s first animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, although she was never credited for the work. After her time at Disney, she taught dance and did some choreography for several films and television shows.

\nIf there was ever an actor that required almost no introduction, it would be Sidney Poitier, who was the first black actor to win an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, both of which he received for starring in the 1963 drama Lilies of the Field.

\nAlongside acting, Poitier was also a prominent member of various social and humanitarian causes, most notably the Civil Rights Movement, and for a decade was even the Bahamian ambassador to Japan – although he was born in Miami, his parents were just visiting. \nShe eventually felt she had gotten all that she could out of the profession, and moved onto a new one – writing. She has since authored several books, including a historical novel and her autobiography, dishing all of the dirt about her life as a child star in cinema\u2019s earliest days.

\nOlder viewers, however, go right back to the original – the 1960s television series, which starred Astin in the Gomez role. \nThis talented dancer has the rare distinction of being one of only seven people involved either behind or in front of the camera with the production of one of Hollywood\u2019s most legendary movies – The Wizard of Oz.

She continued working in the film industry for a few decades more after that, but dance has always been her number one passion. Don\u2019t believe us? \nJanis Paige is one of those actresses that seems to be able to glide effortlessly not only between roles but also between mediums, going from the stage to the screen – both big and small – and back again.

\nThis Hollywood icon began her career in a big band, for which she provided the vocals. She achieved even more fame after breaking out on her own solo career, releasing more than 650 singles from the late forties to the late sixties.

\nWe don\u2019t know how she managed, but Day somehow broke out of the recording studio to appear in films such as thriller The Man Who Knew Too Much, and romantic comedy Pillow Talk. In recent years, however, she has been more camera shy, withdrawing from the public eye save for a handful of charity appearances.

\nThis actor\u2019s most famous role was a long time ago – 1965, to be exact – but it was one for the ages. Plummer appeared as Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music, which was just the highlight of his impressive six-decade career.

\nAnother highlight? Being the oldest ever Oscar winner – at 82 – and the oldest ever Oscar nominee – at 88, for his role as J. Paul Getty in 2017\u2019s All the Money in the World. Now almost 90, the Canadian actor is still working, and has multiple projects in development.

Due to his advanced age Barker has sadly had to retire and pass the mantle to Drew Carey, but he has made guest appearances here and there, just to remind everyone who\u2019s boss.

\nIt was just one of many roles the actress played throughout the 20th century, and she also appeared in another musical, this time a comedy – A Day at the Races. She didn\u2019t stray far from her claim to fame, and played a dancer in most of her roles. The Harlem native also authored several books, mostly about swing music, and co-authored a tome about African-American comedy with longtime friend Redd Foxx.

\nIf you\u2019ve ever picked up a Marvel comic book, you know who Stan Lee is. If you haven\u2019t\u2026 Well, you\u2019ve seen his work, as most of the characters now appearing in Marvel movies – Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, the Hulk, and the rest of the gang – were created by him.

\nLee is the former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, where he ushered in a new age for comics, which today have been translated to films raking in billions of dollars. While no longer working in comics, Lee is still given respect by having him appear in cameos in all Marvel films.

Another memorable turn came in the Christmas movie Elf, in which he played Papa Elf. \nBennett won 19 Grammy Awards and sold more than 50 million records – and counting! Here\u2019s something you might not have known: he\u2019s an avid painter, and his work has been on display in numerous art institutions, including the Smithsonian.

\nThe sixties was truly her decade, though, as she appeared in such classics as Jason and the Argonauts on film and The Avengers on television. \nIf Kirk Douglas is one of the sole surviving male stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood, then Olivia De Havilland is one of the only female ones.

\nLike Douglas, she\u2019s also more than a century old – 102, to be exact – and has acted in such classics as The Adventures of Robin Hood, the absolute classic Gone with the Wind, and drama The Heiress. Queen Elizabeth, also a distinguished member of this list, recently anointed De Havilland a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, making her the oldest woman to be afforded that honor.

\nIf you think about aviation, you\u2019re probably thinking of Chuck Yeager, one of the world\u2019s most famous pilots. Yeager began flying in World War Two, in which he carried out 61 successful sorties, but continued in the Vietnam War, later becoming a test pilot.

\nIn that capacity, he became the first pilot to break the speed of sound – a feat he replicated 48 years later, at age 72! Not impressed yet? Fine, he did it again, this time as a passenger, at age 89.

\nIt\u2019s unheard of for someone to be so famous for appearing in a show in which he was never the biggest star. That\u2019s certainly the case for James Lipton, whose Inside the Actors Studio has been on the air for 24 years, broadcast to 89 million homes in 125 countries.

\nLipton has hosted everybody who\u2019s anybody in Hollywood, and few ever dared turn an invite down. Now 91, Lipton is still trucking along, and has been on his show as recently as January, 2018. It\u2019s almost impossible to remember at this point, but he used to be an actor, appearing for a decade on soap Guiding Light.

\nWe\u2019ve finally come to the \u201cKing of Calypso,\u201d Harry Belafonte. As his nickname hints, he began in music and then later moved to acting. His most enduring hint was The Banana Boat Song, which we all know as the \u201cDay-o\u201d song.

\nIn his second career, he appeared in 1953 hit musical Carmen Jones and 1959 film noir Odds Against Tomorrow.
