Sometimes the person playing the kid might only be a few years younger than the parent and other times they are actually OLDER than them. \nIn a world where dancing and rock music are banned, apparently there are also 12 year-old fathers. In reality, John Lithgow, who played Reverend Shaw Moore, is only just over a decade older than his on-screen teenage daughter Ariel, played by Lori Singer.
