\nIf you\u2019re a parent, you\u2019ll know how difficult it can be to leave your kids behind when you go on vacation. While the Schoonovers were upset to leave their teenage daughters at home while they went on the vacation of a lifetime, they knew that they needed a break.

\nThey had spent decades bringing up their children, and they were finally allowed to have time to themselves and truly unwind. However, what they didn\u2019t realize was that the true gift would be waiting for them when they returned home…

\nTo give their hard-working parents the shock of a lifetime, the Schoonover sisters decided to concoct a plan. It was the second-oldest sister, Hollie, who had the idea.

\nShe asked the oldest sister Heather – who had married and moved away – to return from her home in the country, and come to North Myrtle Beach to help them all out. Heather agreed to the plan, and Haley was put in charge of recording their efforts. She followed her sisters around with a camera and documented what they were up to.

\nAfter their mission was complete, the Schoonover sisters decide to upload their video onto their YouTube channel, so that their friends and family could see what they were really up to. They figured it was something nice to share with everyone.

\nHowever, what they didn\u2019t realize was that their video would not only reach those closest to them but would also make their way across the globe and into the homes of thousands across the world. Before too long, their video became a viral sensation and made us all smile.

\n[post_page_title]Starting from the bottom[\/post_page_title]
\nSo what was their plan? Well, the sisters wanted to show their parents just how much they appreciated all of the hard work and love they had put into their lives.

\nThey had noticed their family home really needed some work and updating, so they decided to put in the effort to fix things up. While none of the sisters had any experience in home renovation or even deep cleaning, they knew what they had to do.

\nThe girls decided to make it easier for themselves and get rid of all of the junk in their house first, to be able to really start from scratch. Yet, they soon realized that they had taken on more than they could chew, as they found themselves surrounded with junk and trash.

\nIn the end, the mess of their family home took a whole day to clear up, which put them seriously behind on their plan. At least they had each other and they made a great team.

\nOnce the sisters had a clean slate to work with, they started analyzing all of the furniture that was in their house. After much deliberation, they came to the conclusion that the couch and other pieces of furniture just wouldn\u2019t do – so they threw them out!

\nOf course, throwing out a couch is much easier said than done, and their hilarious struggles were caught on camera. To replace the old items, the sisters pooled together all of their money to buy new furniture for their parents. They had finally made a start.

\nUnlike many siblings, the Schoonover sisters did not have to deal with sibling rivalry or fighting. They had been extremely close growing up, and they knew that they worked together extremely well.

\nIn fact, all four of the sisters used to spend their childhood working together to complete geocaching expeditions. This rather niche hobby is almost like a treasure hunt, but you can only find the hidden items using GPS coordinates. This new project was just like another Geocaching mission for them, and they were ready to find the treasure.

\n[post_page_title]Hitting the wall[\/post_page_title]
\nAlthough they seemed to be on the right track, the sisters seemed to hit a metaphorical wall by day three of their mammoth project.

\nThe sisters had been working tirelessly to strip down their whole house and transform it into something new, and it had started to take its toll on them. They were feeling the mental and physical strain of their remodeling mission, and they began to question why they had taken on the task in the first place. Did they have it in them to continue? Or had they hit the last hurdle?

\n[post_page_title]A helping hand[\/post_page_title]
\nAs they struggled to complete the mission, the sisters enlisted the help of their families and friends to lend a helping hand. While they had all hands on deck, the sisters were still struggling with the amount of work in front of them.

\nThey had set about their mission with expectations on how their remodeling process would go, but it proved to be completely different. The hard work went on for hours, and they seemed to be further and further away from completion. They were so close to quitting, but they knew they had to carry on…

\nOne of the most difficult aspects of their mission was that it was extremely physical work. The painting was exhausting, the moving of the furniture hurt their backs, and they struggled to sleep because of the stress of it all.

\nNevertheless, they all used their strengths to their advantage in the project. Heather was an extremely healthy fitness fanatic who had more strength than the others, Halice was the intellectual who went to college, and Hollie and Haley were both extremely artistic. They were the perfect match for each other.

\n[post_page_title]Busy schedules[\/post_page_title]
\nBecause all of the sisters had busy schedules, they often had to flit in and out of the project. On day five, they were put in an awkward position when Halice and Heather both had to work.

\nHow would they complete the work they needed to get done with just two people on the job? Although this was a major setback for the sisters, Hollie and Hayley were more determined than ever to make a difference to their house. So, they grabbed their paintbrushes and carried on with their mission. They were going to make it.

\nOn the sixth day, all hands were on deck once again, and the sisters decided to set their alarm even earlier than normal to try and get even more work done.

\nThe early risers set their alarms for 7 am and boiled the coffee pot to ensure that they were ready for the day ahead. By this point, half of the kitchen still needed to be painted, and they still had lots to do to ensure that the rest of the house was ready for their parents\u2019 arrival the next day.

\nWhen the day finally came, the Schoonover sisters knew that they had to do something special to make their transformation as spectacular as it could be – so they decided to put their parents off the trail. When they saw their parents\u2019 car pull up into the driveway, Heather made her way outside to surprise them.

\nThe couple were overwhelmed to see their eldest back in their family home and thought that it was the greatest surprise they could have. Little did they know that there was more to come…

\nAlthough Karen and Chip were hugging Heather and taking in the surprise, Karen immediately noticed something about the house. Their front yard looked cleaner than it ever had been, and she asked her daughters who had decided to clean for once!

\nHeather was quick to respond and told her parents that their surprise wasn\u2019t over just yet. So, she took them into the house and walked them into the kitchen, where their mouths immediately dropped open. They couldn\u2019t believe their eyes and wondered whether they had walked into the wrong home…

\nAs Karen and Chip walked into their kitchen, they couldn\u2019t believe that it was theirs. It just looked so different! Over the past seven days, the sisters had completely transformed the room, with just a small little changes.

\nThey had painted over the pale pink cabinets with a chic grey color, and they had replaced the wooden worktops with a sleek and elegant marble worktop. The before and after pictures show just how much work their daughters had put into the job, and brought the whole thing into the modern era.

\nAs the saying goes, people normally choose comfort over style – but the Schoonover sisters wanted to incorporate both of these things into their parents\u2019 living room.

\nAlthough they had kept all of the childhood photos of their family on the walls, they had replaced the old and worn couch with a brand new leather one. They had added in a cool new rug, a coffee table, and even a few flowers! Karen and Chip were over the moon, and it seems as though their pug approves of the new look, too!

\nHowever, the sisters hadn\u2019t just worked their magic on the living room and the kitchen. They had also spent time, effort and money on transforming both the guest bedrooms and their parents\u2019 master bedrooms.

\nThey gave the walls a lick of paint, they brought up the old carpet and put down a brand new one, and they added a few elegant furnishings to bring the rooms to life. Once again, Chip and Karen were lost for words. Was this really their house? They couldn\u2019t believe their daughters had done so much in so little time.

\nThe Schoonover sisters made sure that they captured all of their efforts on camera, and their video shows just how important this mission was to them.

\nThey wanted to make their parents proud, and give them a Christmas gift that would always be remembered. It\u2019s fair to say they successfully completed their mission and made themselves and their parents proud. Although Karen and Chip were overwhelmed to receive such a gift, they also couldn\u2019t believe that their daughters had grown into such incredible women. That was the real gift.

\nHowever, to understand the shock and the surprise that went through their minds when they returned home, we have to know a little more about the couple in question. So, say hello to Karen and Chip Schoonover!

\nThis typical American couple hail from North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, and have dedicated their lives to their children. They have worked incredibly hard to put food on the table and ensure their daughters are happy. So, when their daughters grew up, and they finally had the chance to go on a vacation together, they jumped at the opportunity.
\n
\n[post_page_title]H for happy family[\/post_page_title]
\nChip and Karen seemed to have a thing for a particular letter of the alphabet when they were naming their children, and ultimately settled on Halice, Heather, Hollie, and Haley. As the oldest of their brood, Heather had already moved out of the family home with her husband, but the other sisters were still living with their parents.

\nOf course, they never expected for their girls to leave them such a wonderful surprise when they went away. Most teenagers couldn’t be bothered with helping around with chores, let alone giving their home a makeover! There’s no doubt about it – these girls are special.

\nThese young women proved with their tremendous act of kindness that they are not your typical children. While we’re sure Karen and Chip were not expecting their home to be in total disarray when they returned, they probably did not think they’d walk into an entirely different house.

\nThat’s just the type of kids they raised, though. It’s obvious that these girls love their parents and wanted to do something nice for them. It may have been hard work, but the look on their faces was all worth it.

\nIt really isn’t surprising the sisters were able to work so well together because they’ve been close their whole lives. The social media accounts of all four girls show siblings that are best friends.

\nThey are constantly supporting each other; they are always being silly together; they post countless photos of each other; they really seem like the perfect quad. Perhaps this is because they are relatively close in age: with Heather being the oldest, Hollie about a year behind, Halice two years later, and Haley one year after that.

\n[post_page_title]The fearless leader[\/post_page_title]
\nHollie is the one who took charge and took charge with the plan to surprise their parents. She is the second oldest child in the Schoonover family and has big dreams for her future.

\nShe is interested in being not only a singer, but an actress as well. In the meantime, she is going to school to become a makeup artist until things kick off with her acting career. Look out for her on TV, maybe she’s about to become a big star!

\nHeather is the oldest in the Schoonover brood and she is so proud to be the big sister to her three younger ones. She got married back in 2015 and lives with her husband in Columbia, which is almost three hours from Myrtle Beach where the rest of her family lives.

\nShe works for an apartment managing company and is a proud dog mom. Heather was thrilled to help surprise her parents and jumped at the opportunity to bond with her sisters over this project.

\nHaley may be the youngest child in this family, but she certainly shines in her own way. Her artistic eye is what made Hollie think of her to document the project.

\nHaley is a talented artist and loves painting and being behind the camera taking photos, making her perfect for the job. Its obvious that she admires her older sisters and was probably excited to help out. She currently works at a hotel resort and seems to be enjoying life since graduating high school in 2015.

\nIf you’ve been keeping track, you’ll know we have one more Schoonover sister left, and that’s Halice who is the third born of the bunch. She graduated from college in May 2018 and has been pretty much living the dream.

\nThe graduate has a boyfriend named Scott and the two have been together for at least three years. Hollie is also in a serious relationship for at least three and a half years. We wonder if the sisters have a friendly competition for who will be the next to marry.

\nThe Schoonover sisters seem to really have good heads on their soldiers. After all, everyone has seen those movies about what usually happens when parents go out of town. The kids usually throw huge parties and completely trash the house.

\nInstead, these girls decide to do the complete opposite. They teamed up and did something that would truly impact the people they cared about most: their parents. The sisters knew their mom and dad work hard every day, so they took a week of hard work to do something nice.

\nIf you think the sisters are close, that’s almost nothing compared to how much they love their parents. The Schoonovers are actually a really tight-knit family as a whole.

\nWhile family vacations are common when kids are young, these six still seem to be taking trips together even though the girls are grown up now. It really is a rare sight to see a family who cares so much about each other and wants to spend time together like this.

\nIn fact, the three sisters were all bridesmaids in the eldest, Heather’s, wedding. They support each other at graduations by attending – or if you’re Hollie, doing Halice’s makeup – and posting kind thoughts to each other online.

\nEven Heather who lives a bit further away now tries to visit as often as possible. It is obvious how much these folks care about each other and it really is heart-warming. It makes you want to call family members you haven’t spoken to in a while just to say you love them.

\nKaren and Chip really did luck out in the children department. Not only did they raise smart, beautiful children, but they brought up kind young women as well. The girls did not just sit back and relax while their parents were away.
