The $100 oysters actually make sense and are not that surprising. The reason EACH oyster is so expensive is because the Coffin Bay, Australia native oysters are huge. Unlike other oysters, these are at least 18 centimeters long and weigh around 1 kilogram (that’s a lot). They are usually served as is with a side of lemon slices for extra flavor. Oysters are typically served in the most high end restaurants, and we see why.
