When Debbie was asked how she felt about the entire ordeal, how she felt that her boss essentially turned her back on her after Debbie gave a literal piece of herself to her superior, one of the things Debbie felt was shame.
When pressed further on the issue, she says that she is not quite sure why she feels shame, especially because of the fact that she did such a selfless act. In our opinion, it should be the boss who feels shame.
