One major hallmark of the 60s is the sheer amount of things people used on a casual basis that, looking back, were hideously dangerous. Take for instance this plastic toy maker. It required a child to pour liquid plastic into this mold which, by the way, was a literal oven.

That’s right, back in the 60s kids were given free rein to bake plastic to their heart’s content – regardless of any concern for the handling of dangerously heated instruments and molten plastic. At least it’s non-toxic.
