One of the greatest differences between the current day and 50 years ago is the availability of media. Nowadays there are numerous different networks on TV alone, not to mention streaming platforms and online content.
Back in the 60s, though, there were only 3 major networks; NBC, ABC, and CBS. Aside from some minor local networks, these 3 dominated programming, and it wasn’t until 1986 when they found a serious competitor after the Fox Network was set up.
