It’s a well known fact that asbestos is a very dangerous substance nowadays, having been banned for use in construction since the 1970s. However, before that point asbestos was being used on a massive scale, with almost every house built in the 60s containing asbestos fireproofing or insulation of some form.
It wasn’t just fireproofing however – asbestos could be found in floor-tiles, drywall, and even blankets. Fortunately, asbestos was banned by numerous countries in the 70s, after which they also set up initiatives to remove it from buildings.
